Leriba Hotel and Spa – committed to the principles of eco-friendly practices

At Leriba Hotel and Spa, the focus has always been luxury, naturally

Leriba Hotel and Spa is situated in 12 hectares of lush indigenous forest on the banks of the Hennops River, bordering Centurion city centre. Awarded Best Luxury Hotel in South Africa by the AA Travel Accommodation Awards, as a member of the Endangered Wildlife Trust, the management is justly proud of this piece of natural habitat in the city.

Over the last ten years, more than two hundred exotic trees have been removed and replaced by over a thousand indigenous plants [representing different ecological regions], which created a natural environment for birds and insects.

With more and more development and increasing numbers of people settling in the Centurion/Pretoria area, there will be a definite need for this indigenous forest as a space to relax in natural habitat – in fact, a park in the city conserved for the benefit of future generations.

Newsroom, Leriba HotelLeriba was awarded Gold member of the Heritage Environmental Management Company and International Green Globe Certification, the largest and most successful environment management system and certification programme of its kind in Africa. Green Globe Certification is the worldwide sustainability system based on internationally accepted criteria for sustainable operation and management of travel and tourism businesses, currently operating under a worldwide license in over 83 countries. Green Globe is the only certification brand to be an affiliate member of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

Leriba recognises and shares the environmental aspirations of many of its customers and, as a result, implemented a programme under the auspices of the Heritage Environmental Management Company of environmental friendly and sustainable practices to shrink its carbon footprint.

At Leriba Hotel and Spa, the focus has always been luxury, naturally. Keeping with this theme, on offer is ‘The Green Standard’; new green meeting programmes that incorporate eco-friendly practices, with eco-luxury services are offered from arrival to departure.
