Crillon le Brave announces Provençal truffle hunting and wine weekends
FOLLOWING THE continued success of their sell-out truffle hunting packages, luxury boutique hotel Crillon le Brave has announced the November dates for their English speaking truffle hunting weekends, which include truffle hunting and preparation, wine-tasting, and a visit to the local antique market for the ultimate Provençal experience.
Located 25 miles northeast of Avignon, in the scenic area of south-eastern France, Crillon le Brave is a luxury 36-room boutique hotel bursting with charm and boasting high-quality service and food. Some of the best truffles of France can be found in Provence, nearby Crillon le Brave, an area which is known for its high-quality produce and agricultural production.
Eric Jaumard (above), Provence’s truffle expert, has teamed up with Crillon le Brave and will be leading the three extraordinary truffle hunting experiences on Friday mornings with his trusted dog. Guests will go hunting for truffles with Eric, followed by a rustic lunch. Guests will then have an afternoon at leisure to do as much or as little as they like, before a delicious dinner at Crillon le Brave.
On the Saturday morning, guests will learn how to cook and prepare truffles during a cooking demonstration with Crillon le Brave’s head chef, Jérôme Blanchet (above). Jérôme will be teaching guests his secrets behind creating his signature truffle dishes, such as Duck foie gras pot au feu (beef broth) with black truffle potato gnocchi. Afterg Jérôme’s cooking demonstration, guests will have the opportunity to spend the afternoon visiting Châteauneuf-du-Pape’s finest winery estates, where they will taste a selection of sumptuous local red and white wines.
Guests arise on the Sunday morning to the outstanding views surrounding the hotel, and can make the most of the local environment by heading for the famous antiques shops and farmer’s market in the scenic l’Isle sur la Sorgue. Regarded as the antique capital of the region, the ‘Venice of Provence’, l’Isle sur la Sorgue is named after the clear water canals that run through the pretty town.
Crillon le Brave’s English-speaking truffle hunting and wine weekends are for groups of up to 16 people and will be running from Thursday 5 November to Sunday 8 November, 19-22 November, and 26-29 November. For French speakers, there is also an additional French-speaking truffle and wine weekend from 12-15 November.
